It belongs to the family of necked chordophone instruments, and is similar in appearance to the mandolin. The Greek bouzouki was adopted by Irish traditional music in the 1960s. The Irish bouzouiki APC IRB-305 is made with a solid spruce top and sapelli back and sides. It has a scale length of 650mm and an overall length of 975mm. It has 4 pairs of steel strings with D, A, D, D, G tuning and an open pore finish.
